At the end of January, along with 261 other organisations, Transparency International EU signed an open letter calling on Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Commissioner Stephane Séjourné to reverse their decision to withdraw the Directive on European Cross-Border Associations (ECBA). This directive would allow associations with membership and operations in different Member States to be automatically recognised throughout the Union and to operate across borders at the same conditions as national ECBAs.
