As the EU embarks on its single largest economic recovery programme, open and accountable decision-making has never been more essential to protect the EU’s public resources. The recovery process is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to shape the future of EU integrity, public contracting and investment.
Reflecting this, Transparency International and the European Commission’s Department for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) are holding this important Conference entitled ‘Building Transparency with Integrity Pacts in Europe’ drawing on the experiences and lessons learned from the Integrity Pacts Pilot about the role of open decision making, citizen engagement and civic monitoring in safeguarding EU funds against fraud and corruption.
EU Commissioner Elisa Ferreira and TI Chair of the Board of Directors Delia Ferreira Rubio will welcome citizens, EU and national decision-makers, managing authorities, civil society organisations, journalists and practitioners to a discussion of challenges and opportunities for inclusive public contracting that benefits all citizens.
All interested in protecting public resources are welcome to join us. Together, we have the power to collectively shape the future of integrity in Europe and beyond.
Interpretation will be provided in Italian, Portuguese, Polish and Slovenian.
