Transparency International EU will launch a new report on Council transparency on September 28th,
The Council of the European Union is the least transparent of the big three EU institutions. But decisions taken in the Council affect everything from the state of our seas to the food on our plates.
That’s why Transparency International EU has taken a fresh look into the depths of decision-making in the Council. By focusing on the up-coming negotiations over fishing quotas for 2017, we examine Member States’ opinions on the transparency and accountability of the Council for our new report. We will present these findings and have invited The Pew Charitable Trusts to illustrate the current progress to end overfishing in the EU. This will be followed by a Q & A and discussion.
